Last week the girls made pigeons and buses to go along with the book
"Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus." Then at story time, B found yet another Mo Willems book,
"The Duckling Gets a Cookie." We checked it out, and as soon as we got home she decided she wanted to make a duckling too.
We didn't get to make one right then, but we did make one. We made it the same way we made our pigeon. Started with a hand print, yellow this time, using the thumb as the neck and added a head and eye made from paper.
Then the girls drew on feet and a beak. B wanted her beak to look like the book, so when her first one didn't she decided it was a horn and drew a new one.
They wanted to make cookies for the duckling too, so I made up little sheets with 5 brown circles on them. I wrote a number word above each circle along with a blank to rewrite the word and a blank for them to write the number. Then they glued on the correct number of "chips."
